Coding Analysis Toolkit: A Free Service for Analysis of Qualitative Data

The presentation given below is an attempt to give a quick overview of the features of the above mentioned analysis toolkit for a starter especially a research student. It is just a collection of screenshots from the document (accessed at http://www.umass.edu/qdap/IJMRA.pdf) which I think would create an immediate interest in you to explore further.

My appreciation for this toolkit comes from my experience of doing a qualitative research for  the Dissertation as part of my M.A Education course. During the course although I got equipped with the theoretical aspects of the methodology in practice I did not see much scope to eliminate my own bias in the interpretation of the qualitative data that I had gathered. This toolkit perfectly equips us with that process of eliminating individual bias from the interpretation of our data. It enables us to mutually delegate the task of coding our qualitative data to our peers and then validate it paragraph by paragraph. Further it helps us measure the inter rater agreement to see how confidently we can go about generalizing the conclusions that we have drawn from our study.
